Nagasawa Kobe Ink No.59 Hirano Gion Romance Gray 平野祇園浪漫灰. Hirano Gion Shrine offers an amazing panoramic view of the city. The Heike samurai leader Kiyomori made plans for international trade at this shrine. On rainy days, these stones glisten with romanticism. The gray used in this ink is inspired by the color of the shrine's stone stairs.
Nagasawa is based in Kobe, Japan, and was founded in 1882. The colors of Kobe Ink originate from the vibrant views found around the beautiful city of Kobe, capturing its regional characteristics, aspects, and environments. Use Kobe Ink to evoke happy feelings and the magical qualities of Kobe when writing letters to friends.

Romance Grey is a deep, saturated neutral grey that, were it any darker, would likely register as black to a lot of eyes. In swatches, it lightens up but in a juicy nib, it’s just dark. That said, in the right pen, this is a fantastic almost-black with plenty of character. I really enjoy it in my vintage Esterbrook 9550 and my Lamy Studio with an EF nib.
